robot and bunnies
several years ago, one of our local bookstores held a robot themed fundraiser to save them from closing. i painted this for their silent auction. naturally, robots and bunnies go hand in hand. and those bunnies have shown up in several paintings, sketches and even a t-shirt!

la belle morte (detail)
here's one of my favorite paintings of a dried flower. it is currently hanging in the living room. i painted it several years ago i think from a sketch i did of a flower that eula had. though it's very possible i did the sketch from the painting...

listening to this american life
i can't remember if i've posted this one before, but it's one of my favorites. i imagined her sitting comfortably in a nice arm chair listening to this american life on npr.

habersham cactus
i'm doing some cataloging this afternoon and came across this old favorite. it's from several years ago, but i still love it. i'm glad i have photo as it was sold in a benefit silent auction.
i'm up to number 829 pieces and desperately trying to catch up to the newer works in my ongoing cataloging efforts.

dried flowers and strawberries
my newest work - dried flowers and fresh picked strawberries. i took the day off work and in the morning we went and picked 75 pounds of fresh strawberries at a farm south of atlanta. when we got home, we turned most of them into 40 pint sized jars of preserves! naturally, i took some pictures of the fresh strawberries and used them in this painting.. they were as yummy as they look.

penny
also from a magazine photo though the glasses were from a different photo. wayne thinks she looks like penny marshall so i named her penny. i spent a little more time on this one trying to get the hair just right, but this one was an instant favorite of friends.
enjoy.
playboy
so i found this great photo in a magazine of this older woman dressed for mardi gras. i planned on sitting down and working for a while on this painting to really capture the image well. less than 10 minutes later i had this finished piece...

untitled
this painting was completely off my radar. i also discovered this one while at my friends' house photographing my works that they own. this was one of the very first paintings that i ever painted. my friend and i were roommates back then and i gave this to him at that time. that was maybe 12 or 13 years ago and he still has it. i'm so glad he still has it and that i was able to photograph it today. i ended up giving it the letter a instead of a number, since it completely predates my numbering system and cataloging efforts. it even has my old signature! it was a very fun find for me!
enjoy.
update: i changed my mind and gave it the number 536.
invisible boy in wife beater
found! i thought this painting was lost - i had looked and looked through my studio and was never able to find it. then today, i went over to my friends' house to photograph my works that they own and they had this painting! i'm very happy that it's not lost, that it has a good home, and that i now have a photo of it!
enjoy.
