landscape and upside down flowers painted in a frame made for lang graphics calendars. painted just the other day.
and in related news, my great cataloging project is winding down. about 99% of the paintings i have here are photographed and put in numerical order on my flickr page. i still have to get some photos from works that friends and family have and print out copies for my non-digital photo albums. this is huge! i've been working on this project for years!
and i'm creeping towards that next big milestone of 1000 paintings - i just finished number 836 this morning...
enjoy.

habersham cactus
i'm doing some cataloging this afternoon and came across this old favorite. it's from several years ago, but i still love it. i'm glad i have photo as it was sold in a benefit silent auction.
i'm up to number 829 pieces and desperately trying to catch up to the newer works in my ongoing cataloging efforts.

here's my newest work to date. just finished it on wednesday. this painting requires a strange title that has nothing to do with what's going on in the painting (or does it?). this painting is number 699... just about at 700 and creeping towards 1000....
i hope you like it.
enjoy!

working on some cataloging this morning.... photographed a few works, numbered and signed some recent prints, and feel like a making a slight dent into the entire project. i've put the first 261 in numerical order up on my flickr page. after numbering all the recent prints, my count is up to 683 works. lately, i've been playing with the gouache, but mostly in my various sketchbooks...

the great cataloging...
as i sort through and find paintings that i have not yet photographed i have made a few observations...
1. some of them were not photographed for a reason. that reason is usually because i think they are horrible paintings and should never been seen by anyone. that said, i'm going to photograph them anyway as they have brought me to where i am today. (once photographed though, they are completely at the mercy of the brush and chance getting a fresh face...)
2. i have come across a few works that have never been numbered. actually there are quite a few on paper that have never been signed, dated or numbered. some of my favorite works (past and present) are on paper (like number 58 here) so i'll soon go back and number all of them. that'll probably take me way over the 600 mark.
3. i found the folder of my works from my first painting class with eula. that's going to be so much fun to sort through and compare to my current stuff. a before and after fete!
4. this great cataloging project is really a lot of work, but i'm enjoying every minute. documenting my paintings, finding old gems, and working back through the years up to the present.
